ANIMATION SUPERVISOR
Home / Oscar Burgos

Animation is my true passion and I feel privileged to be able to work in this fantastic industry, work on projects that are enjoyed all over the world and, as animation supervisor, be able to share my experience with my team and young animators.

Each character, every project is its own journey of exploration; bringing its own challenges, problems to solve, new opportunities to develop and push our skills and a truckload of fun!

I am a born creative. From my childhood in Bogota, Colombia, to now working on the new animated feature film with Ilion Animation Studios and Paramount in Spain, I strive to constantly grow as an artist and a human being.

My professional career began as a designer/illustrator in 2006, working with studios and agencies like RTI Television in 2006. Although I will always love design and still have a passion for drawing, I had an ever stronger passion that was growing to make things move and emote…really come alive on the screen.

In 2008, I decided to move from Colombia to Argentina to study character animation at Image Campus School in Buenos Aires and I was hooked! Since then I have worked on feature films like Cuentos de la Selva, La maquina que hace estrellas and Metegol, theatrical shorts Los Creadores and helped a number of freelance clients bring their vision to the screen.

In 2013 I was asked to relocate to Guadalajara, Mexico. There, I was entrusted with the responsibility to lead the HuevoCartoon team as Animation Supervisor to bring their animated feature film Un Gallo con Muchos Huevos to life.

I am very grateful for this experience and the commitment and passion of my animators to get their best work on the screen. Huevos was a huge success – resulting in some surprisingly fantastic numbers at the box office in the USA as well as Latin America, so I look forward to the world wide release and hope that the creative team will work together in the future.

Until then, my career as animator in feature films continues in Madrid, Spain where I have joined Ilion Animation Studios and look forward to pushing my skills and exploring all things animation, performance, art and story with my good friends and talented colleagues at Turbine Pictures.
